Accelerated Learning

Learning comes easier for some kids. But sometimes, if they’re not being properly challenged, they can encounter frustration and even boredom that could potentially hold them back. Our Extension Courses are designed to challenge young fertile minds in a supportive environment that gets the very best from them in a fun and stimulating way.

 

Little Learners

This 10 lesson program is designed for children in the last term of their first year of school. The program will prepare children so they have a head start as they proceed to the more formal learning challenges of their second year of school. The academic skills taught include basic reading and comprehension, alphabet, counting, addition and subtraction and number recognition to 100. The program incorporates computer learning in a meaningful, yet fun way. Worksheets and computer drills reinforce concepts, while changing mediums keep the students engaged. In addition to academic skills, the program teaches intellectual skills. These are visual memory, auditory and visual discrimination, auditory sequencing and phonemic awareness. Increasing these abilities will help children not only in their second year of school, but throughout their schooling.

Intelligence Development Program


This popular computer based program is designed to develop problem solving, abstract thinking, evaluation, an increase in verbal and non verbal reasoning and visual and auditory memory. Suitable for students from 10 years and up, it is wonderful preparation for those looking to sit selective school entrance exams or apply for scholarships. The program is also often incorporated into other tuition programs by individual Kip McGrath Education Centre teachers.
